Policy Committee

The Policy Committee allows parents and community members the opportunity to advocate and participate in making decisions for the Head Start program. Parents of students currently enrolled in the Head Start program and community members are encouraged to join the Policy Committee to make a positive impact for the children and their community.

The Policy Committee meets monthly (however it reserves the right to enter "special call" sessions as needed) and has a decisive role in the planning, operation and evaluation of the Head Start program, including the active role of voting on elections, policies, key personnel and the recruiting of volunteers and encouraging parent participation. Officers are elected to the positions of President, Vice President, Secretary, Sergeant at Arms, and serve for a one year term to the Policy Committee. Parent attendance is vital as the Policy Committee serves a major purpose in the functioning of the Head Start Program.
